Teamfight Manager casts the player as the coach of a virtual esports team, with a championship campaign shaped by strategic choices and ongoing management. Its premise combines match preparation with the work of building a squad, so success is not just about picking champions: recruiting, training, and budgeting also factor into the job.
Drafting revolves around a pick-and-ban system that asks you to weigh your players’ preferred champions, opponents’ tendencies, and how well a lineup works together. Matches use short deathmatch-style sets: champions fight for one minute, and the team with more kills takes the win. Each champion has a basic ability and a once-per-set ultimate, making ability timing and champion-specific skills part of the tactical picture. Players differ in their attack, defense, and champion skills, while traits can give some of them distinctive strengths. Funds, equipment, and facility improvements add a management layer to roster decisions.
The format supports both a single-player coaching experience and direct competition: the listed modes include friendly one-on-one matches and leagues with up to ten invited friends.
