Tape to Tape casts players as the newly appointed captain of a ragtag hockey team, setting a roguelite campaign across a mysterious land in pursuit of hockey’s last bastion. The premise ties team building to a larger quest: choices about who to recruit and how to shape the squad matter alongside what happens on the ice.
Its hockey is a fast-paced, 90s-inspired simcade, with dynamic puck physics at the center of play. Shots can deflect off sticks or faces, while players and goalies react to rebounds and ricochets, making each scramble part of the action. Between runs, players can recruit talent, pursue player synergies, select abilities, bribe referees, and visit the Blademaster for permanent upgrades; losses are framed as a chance to prepare for another attempt.
That campaign structure sits alongside Play Now, Shootout, and Tournament modes, as well as cooperative campaign play. Multiplayer is designed for local play and remote sessions through Steam Remote Play Together, rather than native online multiplayer; Play Now supports up to 10 players locally.
