Tales of Novariel sets its adventure in a once-peaceful land disrupted by slimes in different colors and clothing. Players create a hero, fight the creatures, free cities, help lost citizens and explore a world described as vast. The game is explicitly single-player, so its play format is a solo RPG journey rather than a shared multiplayer session.
Its world is procedurally generated across tile types including cities, forests, plains, mountains, rivers, lakes and deserts. The listed terrain can contain resources and characters, while several types also include enemies. Combat is round-based, and character creation offers six races and three classes: choices range from the strong dwarf and agile elf to the warrior, mage and thief. These systems give the adventure its mix of exploration, encounters and character selection.
The game’s store description also cautions that it is in a really basic state and no longer under active development. That distinction frames the game’s design without suggesting how many people are playing at any particular time.
