In Tails of Iron, players take the role of Redgi, heir to a kingdom shattered by war with the Frog Clan. The hand-drawn adventure follows his effort to drive out the clan and its leader, Greenwart, and restore the Rat Kingdom. Its grim fantasy setting is balanced by companions and a keep where Redgi’s brothers support the journey through cooking, weapon-making and quest updates. This gives the story a home base as well as a dangerous world to explore.
Combat is built around reading enemy attacks and responding with timing rather than simply trading blows. Redgi can dodge-roll, parry, use ranged attacks and perform executions; equipment choices also shape his approach, with heavier armour offering more protection while affecting mobility. Axes, spears and broadswords provide different weapon options, while recipes can prepare health-boosting meals and discovered blueprints enable new weapons and armour. Boss encounters add distinct challenges against the Frog Clan’s oversized generals.
The game combines exploration, side quests and faction hunts with punishing action, set across a kingdom described as having six biomes and hidden paths. It is listed as single-player, so its player-count context is that of a solo-led campaign rather than a shared-world or cooperative format.
