Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter casts players as Arlo, heir to the Warden of the Wastes, in a northern kingdom threatened by the Dark Wings. The adventure follows the aftermath of the great war between rats and frogs, as an old enemy rises amid the snow. Its rodent heroes and frost-bitten setting give the fantasy conflict a distinctive identity, while Doug Cockle narrates the story.
Combat is built around deliberate timing and a choice of approach. Arlo can dodge attacks, land split-second parries and finish foes with executions, while an arsenal of upgradeable weapons supports spear, bow or mace fighting. Traps and elemental sorceries add further tactical options. Beyond battles, players hunt giant beasts for crafting resources, take on side hunts and build up a settlement to unlock items, meals and traps. Three difficulty levels are available, and the game allows players to switch between them at any point.
The store lists Tails of Iron 2 as single-player, so its play format is a solo journey through the northern realms rather than a shared multiplayer session.
