SWAT Commander: Prologue is an introductory version of a team tactical shooter, built around an intervention at Bernard Tire & Auto Center. The scenario begins after rival gangs have clashed at the auto shop: players investigate the scene, secure evidence, pursue suspects and protect civilians. A mission briefing frames the danger before the operation, giving the assignment a law-enforcement focus rather than treating the location as a simple combat arena.
Preparation and coordination shape the approach. Players can equip a SWAT operative with rifles, handguns, armor and tactical gear, then plan equipment and an entry point with teammates. The prologue supports solo play as well as multiplayer lobbies, where players can invite others or join another commander’s lobby. Its three mission modes, high-risk warrant, barricaded suspect and bomb threat, set different objectives, from bringing down suspects to defusing an explosive device. Securing objectives leads to an evaluation of the team’s performance.
The prologue focuses on its second mission, Hot Reception, and its description explicitly distinguishes this introductory version from the final game. Its briefing, loadout choices, entry planning and shifting mission goals make preparation and procedure central to the premise.
