SurfsUp reimagines classic community air-surfing in the Godot engine, pairing a low-barrier invitation for newcomers with a competitive focus for experienced players. Its central challenge is controlling momentum across ramps: players carve turns, launch into jumps and rely on timing and precision to maintain their flow. That emphasis makes each run a test of movement and control rather than simply reaching the end of a course.
The game offers Surf, Bhop and Climb (KZ), with Easy and Legacy options for its newer modes, plus Freestyle, where players can bhop anywhere without resets. Different surfing styles, including Half Sideways, Backwards and W-Only, have their own leaderboards. Runs can be revisited through replays or downloaded as ghosts, giving players a way to study a route or race another performance. Checkpoints and splits make comparisons against friends, personal bests and world records more specific.
Maps and multiplayer shape the wider play format: the listing describes more than 125 maps available to all players, alongside solo play, public lobbies and player-hosted sessions. Leaderboards are organized by mode, style and input device, while controller support includes dedicated controller rankings.
