Rocksteady Studios casts Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark as Amanda Waller’s newly recruited Task Force X, sent on an impossible mission: kill the Justice League and save the world. Their target is an expansive Metropolis ravaged by Brainiac’s invasion, where former protectors have become threats. That setup gives the action shooter its distinctive reversal: the familiar superhero city is a battlefield viewed through the eyes of its most unruly opponents.
Traversal is central to the design, not just a way to reach the next fight. Each squad member has distinct traversal mechanics, and the game combines free-roaming exploration with combat verticality across a sprawling, battle-torn city. Players can experiment with different play styles to deal damage, giving movement and combat room to intersect rather than treating Metropolis as a static arena.
The game supports solo play as well as online cooperation with up to three friends, so its player-count context depends partly on whether someone is tackling the mission alone or sharing it with a squad. That flexible format sits alongside the core premise of fighting through an invaded open-world city as the Suicide Squad, rather than playing as the heroes they are tasked with killing.
