Streets of Chaos casts you as the leader of a rising resistance in a future city overwhelmed by crime and failing public services. The aim is not simply to survive: you are trying to take over the city and run it your way, while contending with law enforcement, judges and a rival rebel leader. Its strategy-and-board-game hybrid premise gives the campaign a contest for control rather than a straightforward crime-fighting role.
Your crew is built from randomly generated recruits, whose seven stats shape their skills. Equip them with weapons, armor and items from the Pawn Shop, then decide where their attention goes: seize a street, hack a database for resources or pursue the competing leader. Lawyers and bribery offer ways to work around the courts, while attacks on headquarters, side deals and events that alter the rules add further strategic complications. The city layout, characters and equipment are randomized each game, so the setup changes from one playthrough to another.
The store lists Streets of Chaos as single-player, making this a game centered on an individual player directing a resistance rather than a shared multiplayer session. Dozens of challenge combinations support longer-term play, and help popups, tooltips and a quick tutorial are designed to ease players into its many strategic choices.
