Street Fighter X Tekken brings fighters from Capcom’s Street Fighter and Bandai Namco’s Tekken together in a crossover built around team combat. Its large roster pairs familiar rivals and series regulars, while the refined Street Fighter IV engine gives the encounter a familiar fighting-game foundation. The central choice is not simply which fighter to use, but which two-person team to assemble and how to bring its members into the fight.
In the main tag format, players control a team of two and can switch characters strategically. The Gem system adds a layer of customization: equipable Gems can shore up weaknesses or emphasize strengths. Other mechanics make the partnership more active. Pandora Mode trades a character’s presence for a brief boost to their partner, while Cross Assault spends from the Cross Gauge to let both teammates attack together. A universal air-launching system also opens the door to Tekken-style juggling within the game’s shared combat framework.
The game supports solo and multiplayer play, with online training in Briefing Room for practicing combos and timing alongside friends. Scramble Mode offers a different format, placing four players in control of the four fighters on screen, either online or offline.
