Street Fighter V centers on head-to-head battles, with a roster of distinctive fighters and personal stories that establish a different identity for each character. Its fighting system rewards more than memorizing attacks: V-Skills provide character-specific moves or abilities and help fill the V-Gauge, while players can spend that meter on V-Reversals to interrupt an opponent’s offense and create room to respond.
The game’s signature resource decisions extend into its attacks. Special Attacks can help control space and build the Critical Gauge; EX versions consume a gauge bar for greater power, while a fully stocked Critical Gauge enables a character’s high-damage Critical Art. V-Triggers add another tactical choice, unlocking powerful techniques when the V-Gauge is full. Together, these mechanics give each exchange a rhythm of building resources, defending against pressure and choosing when to commit.
Play formats range from Ranked and Casual online matches to Battle Lounge sessions with invited friends, alongside offline play and modes such as Arcade and Team Battle.
