Storm over the Pacific is a World War II strategy game covering the Pacific conflict from 1937 to 1945. Its expansive theater spans regions from China and India to Australia, the US West Coast and the Pacific Ocean. Rather than follow a fixed historical script, players can pursue events faithfully or chart a different course, directing one country or combining control of several.
The game brings land, air and naval forces together across a map containing tens of thousands of hexes. Players manage divisions, planes and ships, develop technology, handle resources and alliances, and account for logistics, weather and terrain when planning operations. Four major campaigns cover the Pacific, Australia and China, while smaller scenarios include battles such as Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Guadalcanal. Customizable fog of war offers varying levels of difficulty and realism.
Play can be single-player against AI or multiplayer, including cooperation against AI through Hot Seat or PBEM.
