Steel Seed is a single-player sci-fi action-adventure set after a catastrophe leaves Earth uninhabitable and machines in control of humanity’s remnants. Players follow Zoe into a hostile underground facility, searching for answers and a key to mankind’s survival. Its machine-built regions include industrial landscapes and biodomes, where environmental hazards, secrets, and storytelling define the setting.
Rather than relying only on direct combat, Steel Seed blends stealth, environmental problem-solving, and action. Zoe can use shadows, distractions, and her surroundings to avoid or take down enemies; other encounters pit her against varied foes and challenging bosses. Her flying prototype drone, KOBY, assists with guidance and puzzles through environmental interactions, and the pair work together in fights. Three skill trees and 40 upgrades offer ways to customize Zoe’s abilities and playstyle.
Exploration, tactical encounters, and Zoe’s partnership with KOBY anchor the experience, while its story examines the boundary between human and machine, alongside themes of trust and control. Those elements give the game’s stealth and combat a narrative frame without implying a multiplayer mode.
