In StarVaders, Earth’s defenses have fallen to an alien invasion, and the player pilots a mech in humanity’s fight back. Its central twist is to make each clash a tactical, grid-based battle shaped by deckbuilding: cards drive the action, while the mech and its pilot determine the strategic tools at hand. This places careful planning and adapting a build at the center of the game’s science-fiction conflict.
Mech choice changes the style of play. The Gunner specializes in bullets and explosions, the Stinger brings a close-range, ninja-like approach, and the Keeper uses spells and summons. Each mech has a squad of pilots, with individual abilities that further influence strategy. Across runs, players assemble combinations from cards, artifacts, and upgrades; a Chrono Token can rewind a turn after a missed combo or a dangerous position. The game also describes escalating threats and unlockable cards, pilots, enemies, and bosses after each run.
Challenge Modes and a Daily Run provide defined ways to test builds beyond the central run-based structure. The game’s changing combinations and mech-pilot pairings give those solo battles their distinctive character.
