Set four thousand years before the Galactic Empire, STAR WARS™ Knights of the Old Republic™ casts the player as the Jedi Order’s last hope in a conflict with the Sith. Its central premise is deliberately personal: choices along the quest can lead toward heroism or the dark side, with the player determining the galaxy’s fate. That role-playing focus makes this more than a tour of familiar Star Wars scenery.
Progression combines Force abilities with hands-on customization. The game offers over 40 different powers to learn and lets players build a lightsaber, while a party of nine customizable characters brings companions such as Twi’leks, droids and Wookiees into the adventure. The journey spans eight worlds aboard the Ebon Hawk, including destinations such as Tatooine and Kashyyyk. Together, these features give the story room for varied companions and settings as the player develops a character and decides what kind of hero, or villain, to become.
Its appeal rests on narrative decisions, character development and travel through Star Wars locations, rather than competing or cooperating with other players online. That distinction helps explain what activity a count represents for this particular game.
