STAR WARS™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga puts players in command of armies fighting across the Star Wars galaxy. Its real-time strategy premise spans factions including the Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, Wookies, Trade Federation, Gungans and Royal Naboo, with battles framed by the Galactic Civil War. Rather than centering on a single battlefield, the game ranges from interstellar asteroids to ground and aquatic arenas.
Victory depends on more than deploying troops: players manage resources and develop technology as part of their strategy. The available forces include Bounty Hunters, Jedi, Droids and Wookiee Kat tanks, while faction-specific advances draw on Wookie ingenuity, Gungan biotechnology and Jedi stamina. Battles can involve armies of up to 200 units per side, giving the clashes a large-scale command focus.
The game offers single-player campaigns and skirmishes alongside multiplayer battles, with campaigns covering land, sea and air. The Clone Campaigns add-on brings 14 missions based on Attack of the Clones, played as either the Confederacy of Independent Systems or the Galactic Republic. A Scenario Editor also supports custom single- or multiplayer campaigns using Star Wars units and settings.
