STAR WARS™ Battlefront frames combat around the planets, vehicles and characters of the original Star Wars trilogy. Its battlefields include Hoth, Endor, Tatooine and Sullust, rendered with an emphasis on recognizable detail. Rather than keeping the action to infantry clashes, the game also puts familiar machinery and heroes directly into the fight.
On the ground, players can command nimble speeder bikes and massive AT-ATs; in the air, the Millennium Falcon, X-wings and TIE fighters feature in dogfights. Iconic figures such as Darth Vader and Boba Fett are playable, while C-3PO and R2-D2 appear among the characters players can encounter. The Ultimate Edition description also outlines expansion settings and formats, from an extraction objective in the Outer Rim to a multi-stage mode inspired by Rogue One.
That mix of ground combat, aerial action and character-led encounters gives the game a broader shape than a single-style shooter.
