Set in the year 518, SpellForce 3 Reforced unfolds after the Mage Wars leave regions in disorder and a deadly plague called the Bloodburn spreads. Amid refugees and political unrest, the Purity of Light blames mages for the crisis. This prequel to SpellForce: The Order of Dawn frames its fantasy conflict around competing claims about how Eo can recover.
Its defining design joins real-time strategy with role-playing. Players create a hero, choose from distinct skill trees, and assemble companions whose abilities and equipment can support the party and affect the narrative. On the strategy side, players strengthen and command Humans, Elves, or Orcs, then lead armies in battles where terrain, formations, visibility, and scouting matter. The result is a game that shifts between character-led adventure and planning for large-scale combat.
The campaign can be played solo or cooperatively, while multiplayer options include PvP, Domination, and cooperative faction play. Reforced also offers Journey, Journey Skirmish, and Arena modes, extending the game beyond its campaign with distinct ways to play alone or with others.
