SpellForce 3: Fallen God follows Akrog, the young chieftain of a dwindling, nomadic troll tribe facing disease and poachers hunting their tusks. An enigmatic elf offers a possible way forward: resurrect a fallen god. This standalone story is set on the continent of Urgath, where the trolls’ struggle for survival frames the game’s fantasy campaign.
Its design brings role-playing and real-time strategy together. Players shape heroes by combining skill trees and abilities, while an improved sector-based RTS system puts army leadership and tactical choices at the center of battles. Units have distinct strengths, and the game asks players to use those strengths effectively. Hero interactions with the world also help uncover Urgath’s mysteries, giving exploration a role alongside combat and character development.
The campaign is single-player, while separate multiplayer features include ranked play with four RTS factions: Humans, Elves, Orcs and Trolls. Its standalone status also means newcomers need not know the earlier SpellForce stories to begin.
