Sonic Frontiers sends Sonic to the Starfall Islands while he searches for the missing Chaos Emeralds. The ancient islands are filled with unusual creatures and the remains of a civilization plagued by robotic hordes. Rather than confining the adventure to a sequence of enclosed stages, the game uses a 3D open-zone design: its five overworld islands combine high-speed travel with action-platforming challenges and hidden secrets.
Movement and fighting both shape the experience. Sonic races across broad spaces, while dodges, parries, counters and combos give combat a more deliberate rhythm. Skill-tree upgrades add further options, and the Cyloop ability is used against foes and colossal titans. The result brings exploration, platforming and battles together across the islands, with mysteries to uncover and Sonic’s friends to save.
The package also includes a Final Horizon campaign in which players can take control of Tails, Amy and Knuckles, each with distinct abilities and fighting styles. That character variety gives the game another angle beyond Sonic’s central island journey.
