Songs of Conquest is a turn-based strategy game set in Aerbor, where players lead Wielders, powerful magicians, into unfamiliar lands. Exploration feeds a broader contest for territory: seek valuable artifacts, confront opposing armies and develop a kingdom. Its four factions give that struggle distinct identities, from Arleon’s rival knights and Rana’s swamp-dwelling tribes to Loth’s necromancers and Barya’s mercenaries and inventors.
The strategy spans both empire management and battlefield decisions. Players manage resources, research advancements and plan towns around their preferred forces. In combat, troop abilities and magic interact, so assembling an army is also a way to shape its spell options and damage potential. Siege battles add another setting for those tactical choices. Handcrafted maps sit alongside randomized ones, while Challenge maps frame strategic puzzles and Conquest maps support head-to-head play.
The game accommodates solo play, cooperation and competition: most maps support single-player, co-op or multiplayer, with local hotseat and online options. Its four campaigns each feature a distinct song whose verses unlock as missions are completed, and an in-game map editor lets players build and share adventures of their own.
