Solium Infernum casts players as one of eight Archfiends competing for power after Satan mysteriously vanishes and Hell falls into turmoil. Rather than treating the setting as a backdrop for combat alone, this grand strategy game makes political maneuvering central: orders have lasting consequences, and rivals must be read both across the map and in Hell’s parliament.
Players command legions, enlist champions, use sinister rituals and confront opponents through insults, demands, tricks and theft. Its design pairs military tools, including enormous Titans, with social pressure and difficult decisions, making each move part of a broader contest for the title of Dark Majesty. The dark painted art gives the infernal setting a strong visual identity, while the game’s political focus draws on its inspiration from Paradise Lost and the earlier Solium Infernum.
The format ranges from single-player Chronicles and Skirmish play to multiplayer for two to six players. Multiplayer can unfold in a single session or asynchronously, with daily turns suited to a slower, ongoing contest.
