Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a party-based RPG built around the rhythms of tabletop fantasy: players create four heroes, then guide them through the shattered world of Solasta in pursuit of the truth behind an ancient cataclysm. Race, class, personality, and rolled stats shape each character, while their distinct skills invite a balanced party rather than a collection of interchangeable adventurers. Dialogue choices also give the heroes room to express themselves as the story unfolds.
Combat is turn-based and tactical, with positioning and elevation at its core. The party can climb, jump, or fly around obstacles, seek high ground, and use light carefully, since illumination can draw monsters while darkness conceals threats. The environment is more than scenery: bridges may collapse, and walls or columns can be pushed onto enemies. Those systems give encounters a tabletop flavor, but make the three-dimensional battlefield a defining part of Solasta’s own design.
Beyond its campaign, Solasta includes an in-game Dungeon Maker for building and sharing custom dungeons, and its listed modes include single-player and online co-op. Player totals should therefore be read in light of these different ways to play, rather than as a measure of one fixed campaign experience.
