Set amid Berlin’s final days of World War II, Sniper Elite V2 casts players as US sniper Karl Fairburne. His mission is to keep the Nazi V2 rocket program’s technology from reaching the Red Army, while helping scientists defect to the United States and eliminating those aiding the Russians. The city’s besieged streets frame a conflict where careful positioning matters as much as marksmanship.
The shooting is built around detailed ballistics: gravity, wind, velocity, penetration, and aim stability all factor into a shot. Players stalk targets, account for environmental changes, and choose between an exposed ideal firing position and a harder approach that lets the mission continue unnoticed. A successful shot can trigger the returning X-Ray Kill Cam, which follows the bullet in slow motion and depicts its impact on the target. That emphasis on patience and precision gives the action a more deliberate rhythm than a simple run-and-gun shooter.
Alongside its single-player campaign, the game lists competitive multiplayer modes including Team Deathmatch, Distance King, Dogtag Harvest, and Capture the Flag, as well as co-op.
