Sneak Out recasts childhood hide-and-seek as a free-to-play, online 5v1 horror match in a Haunted Castle. One player is randomly selected as the Hunter; the others play as penguin Hiders, trying to stay alive and complete tasks until an escape portal opens. That uneven setup shapes the game’s player-count context: its central format is a coordinated group of five evading one pursuer, rather than a collection of unrelated solo activities.
The Hunter’s job is to track down the Hiders before they escape, with monster choices such as the Reaper, Vampire, and Scarecrow offering distinct abilities. Hiders have more to do than run and conceal themselves: tasks help open the portal, while tools and tricks include traps, banana peels, a flying magic broom, and the option to revive fallen friends. A caught player is not simply removed from the action, either. As a Ghost, they can interfere with the Hunter by possessing armor, making surfaces slippery, or throwing chairs.
That afterlife role gives eliminated Hiders a mischievous way to support their team, while the Hunter’s pursuit keeps pressure on the escape effort. The game also ties task completion to customization: earned money can be spent on outfits, accessories, and other style choices. Together, the team objective, shifting Hunter-versus-Hider roles, and active Ghosts give Sneak Out its particular spin on multiplayer hide-and-seek.
