Slyders casts you as Aryx, a fearless fox fighter confronting an evil overlord’s army across Sky World, a realm of inhabited floating islands with distinct peoples and cultures. Aryx is joined by a supersonic turtle mount and Brian, a small, jetpack-equipped bear. The resistance’s goal is to liberate the islands from demonic corruption, giving the action a clear fantasy-war setting.
Combat is built around fast movement and a broad mix of ways to fight: players can select active and passive abilities, improve stats, summon allies such as Bernard the elephant warrior or Sandy the giant sandworm, and deploy turrets. Special weapons and item loot add to the arsenal, while bosses provide powerful items and incoming rockets make dodging part of the combat. Slyders also pairs run-based action with meta progression through Powerups and Weapons, and offers multiple maps to explore across Sky World’s varied regions.
The game describes its runs as intense and lasting fifteen minutes, framing its combat as repeated, focused encounters rather than a single continuous campaign session.
