Simon the Sorcerer Origins is a single-player adventure and an official prequel to the series. A few weeks before the first adventure, an ancient prophecy draws Simon into a foreign world and raises questions about his origins. Its story also brings together a loving mother, a lively teenager, and a forced move, setting emotional discovery alongside encounters with strange creatures and mostly useless wizards.
Puzzles give the journey its practical focus: Simon combines items and clues, activates ancient mechanisms, operates alchemical devices, and learns spells. The game also describes conversations with unusual characters as part of its puzzle-led adventure, where discoveries and secrets unfold through exploration and dialogue. Its approach combines classic gameplay mechanics with modern point-and-click puzzles, while absurd situations and Simon’s sarcasm lend the mystery a comic edge.
The Magical World is presented in a hand-drawn style inspired by the 90s, and Chris Barrie voices Simon, reprising his connection to the character. The mix of item-based puzzle solving, magic, character conversations, and sharp humor defines the game’s particular flavor without making it a multiplayer experience.
