Shift Happens pairs two jello-like creatures, Bismo and Plom, after an accident links them and lets them exchange size and abilities. That shared transformation is the game’s defining twist: players must coordinate around changing capabilities as they solve puzzles and contend over collectible coins. The design balances cooperation with a playful edge of competition, making communication part of the platforming challenge.
The game supports local and online co-op, including shared-screen play, and is designed primarily for two people. Its single-player mode is not simply the same journey alone: it uses different level content, with more than 30 levels designed for solo play. In co-op, players can explore four distinct worlds, from the laboratory where the accident happened to forests, canyons and cold caves. Extra level challenges and rewards give explorers and completionists reasons to look beyond the main route.
Shift Happens also includes bonus levels and time challenges for each level, extending its focus on replayable platforming without changing its central appeal: two connected characters whose shifting size and abilities make cooperation essential.
