Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director’s Cut is a standalone, story-driven computer RPG set in a dystopian Berlin where magic and technology coexist. Players lead a team of shadowrunners into a conspiracy tied to the Great Dragon Feuerschwinge, whose apparent defeat decades earlier gave Dragonfall its name. The campaign’s branching narrative and character-focused storytelling place the crew’s personal struggles alongside its dangerous jobs.
Combat unfolds in turns, with choices shaped by movement, cover, melee attacks, weapons, and spells. The team members have different skills and roles, while the player’s own character develops through a classless skill system rather than being locked into a single archetype. Between missions, team customization lets players adjust companions’ focus and equipment, tying tactical preparation to the group’s contrasting abilities and motivations.
This is a single-player campaign, not a shared session built around other people being online. The Director’s Cut includes five additional missions, alternate endings, and a revamped combat system, giving the campaign more material and tactical refinements while keeping its focus on a solo-led story.
