Severed Steel is a single-player first-person shooter built around Steel, a nimble, one-armed fighter taking on the forces of the mega-corporation EdenSys. Its defining movement is as much a part of combat as aiming: wall runs, dives, flips, and slides let you chain acrobatic attacks through firefights. The destructible voxel environments add another tactical dimension, since weapons can carve paths through levels rather than leaving every encounter confined to its original layout.
There is no reloading, so the game asks you to choose shots carefully and seize weapons from defeated enemies. Bullet time, weapon throwing, and slide kicks broaden the options in fast, close-quarters clashes, while dynamic squad-based AI makes battles unscripted. Campaign Mode offers six compact story chapters, and New Game + mixes up that campaign for another run. Rogue Mode takes a different approach, arranging a short, randomly generated campaign around rogue-lite elements.
Firefight Mode shifts the emphasis to high scores and fast times, with leaderboards giving that arcade-style challenge a competitive frame. A level editor, supported by Steam Workshop, also lets players build and share levels. Across its story, randomized, and score-chasing formats, the core appeal remains expressive movement and improvised combat in destructible spaces.
