Self Defense Dojo casts players as Kotaro Morimura, who goes into hiding after getting into trouble involving his yakuza girlfriend. At a judo dojo, he takes on the role of a self-defense coach, teaching techniques to female students. The setup combines a comic premise with an erotic simulation style, giving the game a distinctly adult framing rather than presenting dojo instruction as a standalone sports activity.
Teaching is only part of the routine. Dojo challenges test Kotaro’s strength and skills; when his attributes are insufficient, simulated part-time mini-games provide a way to earn money and improve those basics. That links the coaching and challenge elements to character preparation, while making the mini-games a specific supporting feature rather than the game’s central subject.
Its design brings together casual simulation, judo instruction, challenge encounters and humorous erotic storytelling. The premise also makes the coaching role deliberately complicated: Kotaro is not simply teaching self-defense, but reaching out to female students with his desires. That tension is a defining part of how the game frames its dojo activities.
