Savage Resurrection revives the action FPS / RTS hybrid concept: players fight as either the Beasts or Humans, but winning calls for more than individual combat. Its setting places two teams in a contest over strategic resources and positions, with battlefield decisions tied to the strength and options of the wider side.
The action combines melee fighting and shooting with team-level construction and planning. Players can expand buildings, research weapons and items, and bring siege weapons or sabotage into the effort to overcome opponents; economic pressure is another route to victory. That blend gives the game its distinctive rhythm, moving between direct clashes and decisions about where a team should invest its effort. The competitive format supports standard and advanced 16v16 matches, with an AI Commander in standard play and a human Commander in advanced play. Competitive matches use locked rosters and do not allow team swaps.
Those options sit alongside its central emphasis on coordinated combat and strategic command, rather than defining it as a solo campaign.
