SAO Utils: Beta is a customizable 3D application launcher built around the idea of bringing a themed virtual interface to the desktop. Rather than centering play on a conventional game loop, it offers a configurable workspace for launching items, arranging shortcuts, and adding visual or practical widgets. Its pluggable architecture also gives developers a way to extend the core program with their own plug-ins.
Calling the launcher is designed to be direct: hold the left and right mouse buttons and slide downward, or use a two-finger slide on a tablet. Once open, items can be repositioned by dragging, edited with a right-click, or added by dragging files from the external File Explorer. Desktop widgets can display images, web pages, animation, notes, and system or custom status information, making customization central to how the software is used.
A standout option is its stereo mode, which can show web pages and images with supported stereo displays; the built-in browser can also display multiple pages within the launcher’s virtual space. Users can choose among several stereo display formats and adjust the view with mouse gestures.
