Samurai Bringer casts Susanoo as a fallen deity sent to Nakatsukuni after losing his power in a challenge to Yamata-no-Orochi. To regain his strength and save Kushinada, he battles samurai and demons summoned from across space and time, with the eight-headed dragon as his eventual foe. This mythic setup frames a repeated struggle toward a stronger confrontation.
Its procedurally generated levels change enemy placements and types between playthroughs, along with the Combat Scrolls available to collect. Those scrolls offer techniques such as slicing, thrusting and jumping, which players can combine in custom loadouts. The combat style can range from spinning slashes and fire attacks to chained combos, rather than relying on one fixed approach. Defeating legendary warriors can also reward weapons and armor with status-boosting effects. Falling in battle does not mean losing everything, allowing players to keep building their loadout and fighting style.
The goal remains focused on recovering strength and preparing to challenge Yamata-no-Orochi, while the shifting levels and customizable techniques give each playthrough a distinct combat setup.
