Saints Row: Gat out of Hell casts Johnny Gat or Kinzie Kensington as the playable lead in a bid to rescue the Saints’ leader from Hell. Framed as a standalone open-world expansion after Saints Row IV, it trades the series’ familiar setting for a supernatural underworld and a direct showdown with the Prince of Darkness. The premise embraces the series’ absurdist side, promising historical icons, returning characters, a talking gun and even a full-length musical number.
Hell is divided into five distinct districts, with players free to choose how they wage war: rescue allies, challenge nightmarish Arch-Dukes or rob Satan’s soul-processing plants. The returning superpowers take on a hellish flavor, letting characters fly on fallen angel wings, call in attacking imps and project an aura that compels worship. Combat adds weapons themed around the seven deadly sins, including explosive frogs, locust swarms and a lethal armchair. These extravagant tools make traversal and firefights part of the same irreverent playground.
The game supports solo play as well as two-player online co-op, with Gat and Kinzie available as the central character choices.
