Saints Row 2 returns players to Stilwater years after the first game, in a city that feels both familiar and changed. The story centers on restoring the Saints as the city’s rightful kings and taking revenge on those who wronged the protagonist. Its open-world design gives that conflict room to unfold through missions, activities, races and diversions, alongside districts and interiors to explore.
Personal expression extends beyond the player character: vehicles can be visually customized and tuned for performance, while cribs and gangs also have detailed customization options. Combat includes melee, fine aiming and human shields, and planes, helicopters, motorcycles, boats and cars can be piloted and used as weapons. The blend of exploration, customization and fighting gives Stilwater’s streets and spaces a distinctly hands-on role in the action.
The story campaign supports co-op, including shared tasks such as one player driving while another shoots. Competitive multiplayer, by contrast, sets players in a Stilwater populated by police, innocent bystanders and rival gangs.
