RWBY: Grimm Eclipse adapts Rooster Teeth’s animated series into a character-driven action adventure set across familiar parts of Remnant and new locations. Its story introduces new Grimm types and a villain not seen in the show, giving the game its own narrative alongside its recognizable cast. Players choose Ruby, Weiss, Blake, or Yang, with each character offering unlockable abilities and upgrades.
Combat is built around fast-paced hack-and-slash encounters, shaped by the large-scale action of Dynasty Warriors and cooperative team play associated with Left 4 Dead. Online co-op supports up to four players, making coordination part of the game’s identity as the team battles Grimm through missions. Full voiceover from the show’s cast, together with additional voice talent, adds to its story-focused presentation.
The separate Horde Mode shifts attention toward defending security nodes and surviving waves of Grimm across five maps, with strategy and defense turrets among its stated features. Ranked challenges, unlocks, and achievements provide further goals beyond the campaign-style missions.
