Runestone Keeper is a single-player dungeon crawler built around repeated, unpredictable expeditions. Its dungeons are randomly generated, so each descent reshuffles the surroundings rather than relying on one fixed route. The game combines role-playing elements with turn-based combat, asking players to weigh their moves as they push through dangerous chambers.
Loot and the dungeon itself both shape those decisions. Equipment arrives with random prefixes and suffixes, and items can be collected and combined into a stronger set. Monsters may appear in groups with complementary abilities, while traps, devices and events can create opportunities even when a run looks desperate. Players also build their hero’s attributes and can seek blessings from goddesses, with the option to betray a deity and face its fury. The game warns that death is permanent, giving each expedition a consequential edge.
Multiple modes and a global ranking system add structure beyond the individual dungeon run.
