Royal Revolt II is a free-to-play action and strategy game built around attacking rival castles and reinforcing your own. On a raid, players choose troops and lead them along a defense route designed by another player, taking the role of a king or queen who can unleash magic during the assault. The opposing castle’s layout is therefore more than scenery: towers, blockades, and defending units shape the challenge an attacker must overcome.
Defense planning offers a contrasting role. Players arrange towers and blockades to delay attackers before they reach the castle gate, while upgrading buildings, defenses, and units helps strengthen the base. Gear, armor, and companions add further choices for the attacking monarch. The mix of directed raids and player-built defenses gives the game a distinct back-and-forth structure, combining action on the path with preparation at home.
Players can go it alone or join an Alliance, which adds cooperative development and recurring competitions between Alliances. Those events call for strategic thinking and coordination, extending the game beyond individual castle encounters.
