Rock of Ages makes a castle siege into a race to smash through defenses with a giant boulder. You take aim at the opposing tower while its owner builds obstacles, and must also contend with a boulder rolling toward your own castle. That back-and-forth gives the game its central tension: attack the enemy’s fortifications, but keep your own stronghold from being flattened.
The action is paired with strategic defense. A variety of units can protect your tower and knock the opponent off course, making the route to each castle part of the contest rather than a simple straight run. The game offers War, Time Trial, and SkeeBoulder modes, with multiplayer available both online and offline.
ACE Team sets the clashes against five historical periods, each contributing its own art and music. That shifting historical presentation gives the collisions a distinctive backdrop, while the core idea remains direct: roll a boulder toward the rival castle, use defenses to hinder the other player, and try to be the one who crushes the opposition. The blend of racing, action, and strategy is built around this shared objective rather than a conventional castle siege.
