Rock Bottom is a single-player incremental mining game built around a straightforward loop: swing a pickaxe, gather ore, and push farther underground. Its caves are procedurally generated, with valuable deposits and hidden treasures to discover, so mining is framed as exploration as well as resource collection.
Progress persists between runs. The game describes each run as making the miner stronger, while upgrades remain permanently unlocked; collected resources can also be processed into bars in a smelter and spent across a sprawling skill tree. That combination gives repeated digging a lasting progression structure rather than making every descent a fresh start.
The journey passes through distinct layers, including the Sunken Canopy and Spore-light canopy, with each bringing new challenges and richer rewards.
