Set in 2052, Robothorium puts players in the role of S.A.I.A., an enhanced artificial intelligence trying to shape a future for robots amid violent unrest. BreakTech’s thorium-powered industry has fueled robotic construction, but a protest movement for robot rights has escalated into riots, and robots are being hunted. The story frames the conflict as more than a fight against humans: rebel factions are divided, and the uprising must contend with cyborgs, humans and other robots.
Its turn-based battles center on tactical planning across eight robot classes, each with its own synergies, while enemies bring distinct mechanics to overcome. Choices also affect random generation, subsequent missions and relationships with five factions, giving the campaign a shifting political and operational backdrop. Outside combat, players manage a robotic troop and reserve, choose allies, craft and gather items, improve talents, and support demonstrations around the world.
Robothorium also lists online multiplayer, including PvP, alongside its single-player campaign. In multiplayer, players face one another and customize their AI in preparation for a response, a separate competitive format from directing the uprising’s factions and missions.
