Rising Storm 2: Vietnam brings the series’ realistic weapon handling into a conflict shaped by modern firearms and sharply different military strengths. Players fight for Southern forces, including the US, Australian and ARVN armies, or Northern forces, the PAVN and Viet Cong. The opposing sides do not simply mirror one another: the Southern forces bring helicopters and powerful air support, while Northern tactics include concealed movement and tunnels that can bring squads closer to the fighting.
That asymmetry informs the moment-to-moment team play. Southern squad members can spawn on a living squad leader in a suitable position, making that leader’s survival a tactical concern. Northern squad leaders can establish spawn tunnels, and commanders have abilities such as accelerating reinforcements or rallying waiting teammates for an ambush. The arsenal ranges from rifles and machine guns to flamethrowers, rocket launchers and traps, while flyable helicopters add another layer to battles across the maps.
The game supports battles of up to 64 players and offers three game modes.
