Rise of Gun is a single-player shop simulator set in a world devastated by a global epidemic and overrun by zombies. After losing his family, the protagonist reaches a settlement where survivors are trying to rebuild. As the town’s weapon-maker, he receives a shop and workshop from the mayor, making commerce and crafting the center of his role in the community.
The defining activity is assembling weapons from parts, including barrels, scopes, stocks, grips, magazines, silencers, and bayonets. The game describes more than 200 components and over a million possible combinations, and allows parts to be combined even when they are incompatible. Players can display their creations on shop shelves for residents to buy, then improve the business with buildings that can add workspace, attract customers, or support new functions such as dismantling parts for materials.
That loop gives Rise of Gun a different frame from a conventional action-focused zombie game: its documented play centers on making goods, managing their display and sale, and developing a store in a small town. Day-and-night cycles, changing weather, and the residents’ cheerful atmosphere add contrast to the bleak setting.
