Richman 4 is a turn-based board game built around the pursuit of wealth. Players roll dice to move around the board, then make choices about buying land and shares, investing in companies, and taking part in auctions. Its mix of property and financial decisions gives the familiar board-game race a broader economic focus.
Movement has a distinctive vehicle twist: traveling on foot allows one die, while motorcycles and cars allow up to two and three dice respectively. Players can switch dice counts while using a vehicle. Real-estate development adds another layer, with purchased empty lots available for construction up to five floors; ordinary lots can become connected chain stores, while premium properties offer a choice of building types.
The stock market uses real-time buying and selling, including special limit-up and limit-down rules. Company ownership also matters: the player with the largest shareholding becomes chairperson, and company profits or losses are distributed among shareholders. Three minigames, including balloon popping and treasure hunting with a penguin, provide diversions from the main economic contest. The game supports solo play against computer-controlled characters as well as multiplayer, and is only available in Chinese.
