RESIDENT EVIL RESISTANCE brings an asymmetric, one-versus-four contest to the Resident Evil universe. One player takes the role of a sinister Mastermind, while four Survivors try to escape. That split gives the match two competing aims: the Mastermind works to stop an escape, and the Survivors must cooperate to make one happen.
The Mastermind can summon vicious monsters, set deadly traps and weaponize cameras, using these tools to attack the group. Survivors, meanwhile, face those threats together while tackling puzzle-style objectives. The escape route is therefore shaped by both sides: one controls an array of hazards, while the other has to coordinate its defense and solve objectives under a time limit. This opposing-role structure, rather than a shared team mission, is the game’s defining design.
Its online PvP setup makes that division central to the experience, with one player obstructing progress and the others working toward a common escape. The game is developed by CAPCOM Co., Ltd. and NeoBards Entertainment Ltd.
