REKA casts the player as an apprentice to Baba Jaga, setting out through autumnal woodlands to learn witchcraft and uncover the legendary witch’s secrets. Its exploration ranges across forests, swamps and villages, where quests, local inhabitants, animals and spirits give the journey a folkloric, sometimes dark atmosphere.
A distinctive home-building system turns a chicken-legged cottage into both a travelling companion and a personal refuge. Players can construct, decorate and customise it, with freedom to arrange its interior, while foraging for ingredients and practising magic draw crafting and witchcraft into the wider exploration. Character-creation tools let players shape their own witch, and wildlife can be tamed to accompany the adventure or brought home. In settlements, quests may also involve choosing whether to help or hinder villagers.
The overall design brings together open-ended cottage customisation, nature-focused discovery and questing, with procedurally generated landscapes shaping the route through a world of villages, wild places and secrets.
