Raise Your Own Clone is a text adventure built around four connected stories and the consequences of a cloning machine left behind by the late Dr. Cyrus Stansfield. The stories follow Marsch, who inherits his uncle’s mansion and lab; the mystery of the doctor’s death; Madelyn, a girl caught up in the machine’s aftermath; and Aloysius, a clone trying to understand what happened. Starkham links these characters to places and people from the developer’s other games.
Play advances through decisions made at key moments, with choices leading to varied outcomes and consequences that can include randomized elements. Before each story, players can adjust story details in a Mad Libs-like setup, and those changes carry forward as the series progresses. The game also records personal and global statistics, tracks branch progress to help players explore different outcomes, and includes achievements tied to the stories and overall play.
Its episodic structure connects the four perspectives into a mystery, while retained branch progress supports revisiting paths and seeing how outcomes differ.
