RAILGRADE casts railway construction as the backbone of industrial recovery. Across a single-player campaign of more than 50 missions, you connect industries to the resources they need, then turn their outputs into a functioning supply chain. Its premise is not simply to lay tracks, but to rebuild a colony whose prosperity depends on moving goods where they can be used.
The strategic challenge comes from balancing construction with production. Tracks can occupy multiple levels and must be routed around environmental terrain, while trains can be fitted with different engines and freight types. Players manage industrial inputs and outputs, watching for bottlenecks that could interrupt deliveries. Mission rewards provide tokens to unlock industries, upgrades, and options, giving the campaign a steady sequence of network-building objectives. Bonus missions add focused scenarios, including searching deserts for oil and developing a rocket launch program; city investment and zeppelin exports offer further ways to handle goods and profit.
Its appeal centers on planning routes, tuning freight operations, and watching a carefully arranged network work across missions.
