RAID: World War II casts four prisoners of war as an unlikely crew recruited by British intelligence operative Mrs. White. Sterling, Rivet, Kurgan and Wolfgang are sent to fight Nazi forces across Europe, with stolen gold as their promised reward. The game’s premise pairs wartime combat with a ragtag gang’s pursuit of profit, giving its missions a heist-minded edge rather than presenting the crew as conventional soldiers.
Its cooperative shooter format is built around four distinct classes: Recon favors precision, Assault brings heavy fire, Insurgent is designed to absorb bullets, and Demolitions specializes in explosive destruction. Players can also unleash Warcries, abilities that strengthen themselves and their allies. Customizable uniforms add a personal touch to the four heroes, while Challenge Cards can modify missions with effects such as a health boost or a pistol-only restriction.
The campaign ranges across recognizable European wartime locations, including Berlin’s Flakturm and a bridge over the Elbe. Alongside standard Raids, secret documents unlock Outlaw Raids focused on taking gold, while Operations link Raids into longer sequences with new storylines and objectives.
